Given the rain over the week and the forecast for more rain next week, I don't think we will be into the new house prior to the Queen's birthday long weekend. The house is pretty much complete on the inside. However we need a few days of clear weather to knock off the remaining outdoor items such as downpipes, cladding paint and driveway. There's not much we or the builder can do about the weather so we will just sit tight and hope its clears up soon. Since the last update it looks like the cleaners have gone through and done their thing. The tiles look great after the clean. A few pics taken through the windows below.

The main thing left to be done internally is the carpet and possibly the shower frames and mirrors. Hope this gets all done this week and then we just have to wait for sunshine.

Electrical Fit Out plus exciting update
Ducked out to the house this morning to see what has been happening. Unfortunately there were no early bird tradies to let me in. I did manage to have a sticky beak through the windows and notice a bit more work being done. Looks like the following has been done:

Partial Plumbing Fit Out and Floor Tiles Start
We were able to sneak out during lunch today to have a quick look at the progress since last week. Not too much done but still plodding along. The plumbers have come out and did a fit out for some of our tapware. The door handles have been installed. The tilers doing the floors have also started. Just two rows so far but hopefully they will be finished by the end of the week.

Our Front Door
Locked out of the house again this morning so cannot give much of an update. I do have a photo of our painted front door though. I was a bit unsure about the colour after we picked it but now that it's on I think it looks fine (other's may disagree). I feel it gives the entrance a bit of a different look to the rest of the house.

Painting Started
Went by the house this morning to grab some photos before work. The three painters where there doing their thing. Looks like they have put one coat on everything in white and were starting on the second coat for the walls. Everything is coming along nicely and the white walls and ceiling make the house look very spacious.

Bathroom Tiling Pics and General Update
Even though it has seemed like ages since we have been able to get in the house it has only been a week. We were able to get in this morning by going a bit later than usual. It was great to see 6 tradies on site working on our house. There were 3 concretors and 3 painters. The concretor's were finishing off the stairs as well as checking the requirements for the driveway pour in a few weeks. We were told that the painters will be putting their first coat on pretty much everything that needs to be painted.
In relation to the items that have been done since the last update, as suspected in my earlier post the bathroom tiling has been more or less complete. For some odd reason the tiler's have not done the niches yet. I assume they will knock that off when they come back to do the living area floors. The electricians have also come back and done the cut outs for the electrical fittings. They should be coming back in the next few days to do the fittings once the painters are done with their first coat.
Hope I haven't gone overboard with the photo's but a few of the updates below.

The bad thing about lock up.....
As the title says there is a bad side to having the house at lock up stage. That of course is not being able to get in to check the progress. Went by the house today and there were no tradies on site. Thus I could only have a look at what has been done through the windows. The good news though is that there seems to be some work quietly progressing along.
Progress since Wednesday should be the following:
Rear of the house with completed stairs
Side stairs
Progress since Wednesday should be the following:
- Bathroom wall tiles -the bathroom wall tiles are no longer down stairs after being delivered. Therefore I assume that the bathroom wall tiles are now done (or at least close to done).
- Side and Rear stairs - Rear stairs complete, side stairs need the landing completed
- Kitchen benchtop installed - We could see this through the window but did not get any decent pics.

Bathroom Tiling Started
Had some luck again this morning with the tradies being there to let me in. This time it was the brickies that were there. Lucky that they start bright and early. They have come back to do the front and side stairs for us. This should be finished today and is one extra thing to cross off our list. I also had a chat with them about putting up a front fence for us once the driveway is done. It looks like it will be a bit cheaper than I expected which is always a plus.
In the house, the bathroom tiling has started. It was still quite dark so I couldn't get a good look at it. But from looking at the flashed photos it looks fine at first glance.
